"small-town soul music"

“If you lower the ambient noise of your life and listen expectantly for those whispers of God, your ears will hear them. And when you follow their lead, your world will be rocked.” - Bill Hybels, The Power of A Whisper

“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.”
― C.S. Lewis "Is Theology Poetry?" (Lecture to Oxford Socratic Club, November 1944)

"Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier." - Mother Teresa

Welcome! Thanks for stopping by my website. I've been into music as long as I can remember - singing along to the TV and radio when I was very young.   I like to play music, listen to music, write music, study and read about music, and most anything music-related!  Something about music connects with me; it must have been the way God wired me up.

And now I have my own website! :) I hope that you will make yourself at home and browse around the site a little. I hope that you will find it encouraging, thought-provoking, maybe a little bit fun!I I wear a few different hats! :) I've worked professionally in music and IT, done some radio, played a gig in a real country bar, and met lots of different folks as we move through life.

Most of all, I'm a Christian and I have a heart for serving and a heart for people -- to walk with them and share this gift of life we have together.  With all of my giftings and things I may have accomplished in music and other venues of life, I'd set it all aside to know Jesus more and better, and through Him learn how to love people more and better.   If there's any wisdom that I could pass on, it's that I know God loves you, wants to forgive you, and be close to you.  :)

Over the years, I've arrived at three general goals with my music:

1. To be honest with what I say, sing, and play (including fun and hard stuff, dealing with difficult topics, leaving the "little mistakes" in all of my songs, and to make people think)
2. To reach out to people with the music - as a reflection our sharing this life
3. To reflect the love and truth of Jesus Christ in a honest, transparent, and creative way

I hope you take the time to browse around a bit. Be sure to drop me a line or say hello!   - Blessings, Ryan
