Incredibly bad week – test of faith :)

Posted By admin on May 27, 2010

Well, I guess it was my turn to have a bad week. Here’s my list of crappy things that happened.

1. Had major oil leak in my car (leaky oil pan gasket) that I wasn’t counting. $360 cashectomy. Ouch

2. Out of nowhere – I’ve developed some kind stress/heat rash on my face that the doctors aren’t quite sure what’s up with.

3. My bat (as in flying rodent) problem has returned. Bad news is two-fold. 1) They’re in mating season – so pest control can’t really do anything major until late June or into July. 2) Since I’ve been potentially exposed — I’ve had to commence with rabies shots!

Fun times. Not.

Posted By admin on May 23, 2010

Hey all,

As promised I do have a new CD forthcoming. But its has been delayed on account of funding. Good news is that the album is DONE and completely in the can, so it will be a matter of time before its out for public consumption. This album is my best yet and most personal in terms of an artistic statement. I can’t wait to put it out there!

Stay tuned….

Polk County Line CD – nearing completion!!

Posted By admin on April 15, 2010

I’m very pleased to report that my new album Polk County Line is nearing completion! :) I’m working with Shane Thomsen from WaveHello Machine Productions, and Dennis Haislip at the Alexander Recording Kompany in mixing and post-production.

Expect a release date in 2 to 4 weeks. :) It will be very cool – and it will be very different from you might expect from me.

makin’ connections!

Posted By admin on April 15, 2010

This past Tuesday afternoon I spent the entire time in downtown Des Moines. I was able to meet with Roxi Copland (www.roxicopland.com), who is an acquaintance of mine and really fine musician. Roxi and I talked a lot about CD pressing, artwork, songwriting, our influences, and the music business in Central Iowa. Although I have played guitar for nearly 30 years myself, and have a ton of musical experience, I still consider myself somewhat of a newbie as a performing singer-songwriter. Roxi is someone I respect greatly, and it was really cool of her to take a few minutes and talk shop with me. :)

Later on that afternoon, I met with Jill and Hilary of On Pitch Media (www.onpitchmedia.com), who specialize in music marketing and technology/social media for musicians in Central Iowa. They sat down and listened to what I was about, what my music is and is about, and what some of my goals are. They were really nice, very professional, and very friendly. I plan on using their services very soon.

It was a great day to make new connections! :)
